Today, I salute decorated Army Veteran Wayne Banks. For his service, Wayne was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star, and has become a familiar figure on Victoria Avenue in College Station, TX, where he sits outside his assisted living home, waving to every passerby. Rain or shine, bringing joy to neighbors and strangers alike. Touched by his consistent kindness, local residents Maikayla and Steven Gifford organized a surprise parade in his honor. The event saw participation from police officers, firefighters, motorcyclists, families, and community members, all coming together to express their appreciation. Emergency vehicles, waving neighbors, and honking drivers paraded past Banks, who watched with a smile from his usual spot. Thank you for bringing joy to the world, Wayne, and THANK YOU for your service.
