Liliana Vera and Evan Jekubovich, both seniors in high school, decided to celebrate their four-month anniversary by lifting the spirits of strangers. Inspired by a video they saw on TikTok, the couple headed to Target to pick up flowers, pens, and notecards. Then, they drove to Hartford Hospital and began placing flowers and handwritten, encouraging notes on the windshields of cars in the parking lot. The messages were simple but powerful: “One step at a time,” “Get better,” and “You’ll get through this.” When you celebrate love by spreading love, THAT’S AWESOME.
