Today, I salute U.S. Army Veteran Michael Smith. Michael served for 24 years, with tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Smith lost his arm in battle, but now he has found a purpose in competing in paracycling races. Riders from all over the world compete in the USA Cycling Pro Road National Championships, and Michael is one of those riders. Michael says, “It’s an honor to be able to say I served this country as a soldier and am doing it now as an athlete.” Michael went on to talk about the importance of being a part of the community. Good luck in the race, Michael, and THANK YOU for your service.
