Today, I salute Veteran and Purple Heart recipient Sgt. Derek Austin. Derek was injured by shrapnel during his deployment in Afghanistan. The other night, Derek was attending a concert, and it was one of his favorite artists, George Strait. That’s when he got quite the surprise and an amazing gift. George, in partnership with the Military Warriors Support Foundation, gifted Derek a new mortgage-free home with special touches that will help with his mobility.
