Today, the AWESOME is in North Carolina. When it comes to your dog, would you risk your life to save your dog? You might say yes now, but what if you had to wrestle an alligator to do it? That’s exactly what Bonner Herring had to do. He was on his property when he heard a terrible sound made by his dog, Strike. Normally, he would check the pond on his family’s property, but he didn’t this morning and instantly knew that was a mistake. Bonner grabbed a rake and ran to the pond to see only Strike’s head above water, held onto by a massive 8-foot alligator. Without hesitation, he jumped in and swam to Strike, who had this look of, “Please do something, Daddy,” on his face. Bonner freed his dog and kept the Alligator away long enough to get to shore and get to the vet to treat Strike’s broken leg. When a man’s love for his dog is everything, THAT’S AWESOME.
