Today, I salute Marine Veteran Frank Steffel. Frank has been volunteering at the Milwaukee VA for the past nine years and has impacted the lives of dozens of Veterans who live there for care. Frank volunteers with the “No Veteran Dies Alone” program. The program has over 30 volunteers. Staff on the palliative care floor said it makes a huge impact on not only the Veterans but also their families, to know their loved one is being cared for. Frank said it’s a simple act that he swore by when he signed up to be a Marine, to ensure no soldier is left behind.
