Today, the AWESOME is in Switzerland. Last week, a man was exploring the Fee Glacier in Southern Switzerland when he broke through a snow bridge and fell almost 30 feet into a deep crevasse. The man had a walkie-talkie, and he did connect with a nearby person, but his exact location was hard to pinpoint. So, it was up to his tiny, long-haired Chihuahua to signal for help, and he did. The tiny little dog anxiously paced back and forth on a rock, near where its owner had fallen, and was spotted by the rescue helicopter. Rescuers rappelled down, rescued the man and flew him and his canine companion to a hospital. A spokesperson for the rescue helicopter said that if the dog hadn’t been there, the man may not have survived. When the smallest of heroes comes up big, THAT’S AWESOME.
