Today, the AWESOME comes from the result of a crime. 78-year-old Tona Herndon was visiting her husband’s grave, who had passed away two weeks prior. It was a hard, grief-filled day that got worse when she was robbed. The police eventually caught the suspect and circulated his mugshot. That’s when 15-year-old Christian Lunsford saw the picture; it was of his father, who had stolen the money so his son could go on a band trip. Christian wanted to right the wrong, so he tracked down Tona, met her in a parking lot, and offered to return the money. What happened next changed everything. Tona, told him to keep it and go on that band trip. It was a kindness that Christian said, changed him and the way he thinks about himself, and THAT’S AWESOME.
