Hearings began yesterday in the federal probe into January’s fatal midair collision of an American Airlines jet and an Army Black Hawk in Washington, DC. The NTSB has determined that the Black Hawk was flying above the 200-foot altitude limit. Army pilots reportedly also missed air traffic control instructions to pass behind the jet.
