Today, I salute Veteran U.S. Army Specialist Daniel Scipioni and Bank of America. Daniel enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2010 at 29. In 2011, he was deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan, and was seriously injured in combat. As a result, he was discharged in 2013. He received the Purple Heart, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two Campaign Stars, NATO Medal, and several other awards for his service. Yesterday, Daniel was presented with the keys to his new mortgage-free and fully furnished home, donated by Bank of America. Bank of America says they have donated over 6,500 homes since 2012, with over 2,700 of them going to nonprofits supporting military service members and their families, to help communities and the housing needs of those who have served.
