Today, the AWESOME is in Major League Baseball. Jen Pawol just made history doing something no other woman has ever done. After years of hard work and dedication to the game of baseball, this past weekend, she became the first female umpire to work a regular-season game in the major leagues. There were dozens of family members, friends, and other supporters who came out to the field with handwritten signs to cheer on Pawol. Those faces were hard to find in a major league park, but when she did, Jen said she’d never forget that feeling. To solidify he spot in the history of the game, the hat she wore in her debut is headed to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. A history legacy and being an example to inspire, THAT’S AWESOME.
