Today, the AWESOME is in Savannah, Georgia. Last month, lightning struck an apartment complex, causing a fire that left many people homeless, including Georgia Southern University student Bella Rosales, who lost everything. A college student, with no renters insurance, no family nearby, and not a lot of money, she was left to start from scratch. That’s when Mike Horn stepped in. Life for Mike has not been easy as of late. He lost everything in Hurricane Helene, and the community rallied around him. Not long after, he suffered the devastating loss of his wife to cancer. His wife owned a furniture store, and there was still plenty of furniture in it, and that’s when he decided to furnish Bella’s new place. Bella said she was in shock and disbelief. Mike said, the act was about more than just furniture — it was about paying forward the compassion he once received, and THAT’S AWESOME.
