Today, I salute Army Veteran Karl Monger. A former infantry officer and U.S. Army Ranger, Monger was commissioned in 1983 and rose through the ranks, leading platoons and companies in the 9th Infantry Division. But after a helicopter crash in 1992 claimed 12 lives, including those of five people close to him, Monger stepped away, returning home to Wichita, but his homecoming was hard, and he felt lost. It wasn’t until 2003 that he regained camaraderie and rejoined the Veteran community. In 2010, his mission became GallantFew, a nonprofit that today provides coaching, connecting, and counseling to veterans from all branches and eras. Thank you for helping other Veterans, Karl, and THANK YOU for your service.
