Today, I salute Navy Veteran and former barber Daniel Waterfield. Daniel Waterfield said he served four years in the Navy during the 1960s. His son, Chris Waterfield, described his dad as someone outgoing, giving, loving, and said he would do anything for anyone. Recently, the man who had shaken so many hands and made so many friends as a barber was just surprised with a free, brand-new roof. The roof was awarded as a part of the Beacon of Hope contest and is open to all veterans nationwide and in Canada. The program, established in 2019, distributes 14 roofs in total throughout the year, with all recipients selected on Veterans Day.
