Today, I salute Veteran and Wichita native Duncan Macormac. Duncan finished high school in 1966 and was in search of a future, of a career, so he turned to the Army and trained to be a military police officer. Macormac spent his entire service at Fort Lewis, Washington. Still, he also served as a military police officer on two overseas tours, including the first, which assisted with the transfer of the Panama Canal from the U.S. to Panama at the end of 1999. His second deployment sent him to Egypt and the Sinai Peninsula. He left as an E4 specialist, and when he went to reenlist, he couldn’t because he had too many tattoos, so he turned that passion into a business. He’s the owner of Green Panther Tattoos in Derby and loves serving his many veteran and active duty customers. “Tattooing veterans is usually pretty fun because even with the differences in branches, you all still kind of have some kind of connection,” he said. Congratulations on building your business, Duncan, and THANK YOU for your service.
