Today, the AWESOME is in Welch, Oklahoma. This time of year, corn mazes are popular. There is one in California that will take the average person 45 minutes to get through. However, it’s a corn maze in Oklahoma that is creating a lot of talk. This year, the maze at Annabelle’s Fun Farm in Welch isn’t your typical fall-themed, crop cut-out. Co-owner Tim Wright says the maze was cut from a photo of friend, pilot and skydiving instructor, Stephen Stewart Jr. ‘Stooby’ as he was known to most, owned a skydive business and one year ago, the 51-year-old took his own life. While Stewart may be at the center of the maze, the work of art includes an important message and a number for those struggling with the thought of suicide. This year, the Wrights want to share Stewart’s story — that his life mattered and so does yours….and THAT’S AWESOME.
