Dolly Parton’s sister panicked the internet yesterday when she asked for prayers for Dolly while she battles some health issues. Instantly, everyone went to the worst-case scenario and thought she was on her deathbed. Freida returned to the internet to clarify her statement, saying, “Dolly’s been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer.”

Dolly is not the only one cancelling tour dates. Cody Johnson has canceled the remainder of his 2025 tour dates and won’t be singing until February. Johnson has been battling an upper respiratory infection and sinus infection. Recently, this led to a burst eardrum that is so severe that he needs surgery to fix it.

And the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame just welcomed seven new inductees. The 55th Annual Gala welcomed Brad Paisley, Emmylou Harris, and 5 others. Also, Kenny Chesney paid tribute to his friend Brett James, who died recently, with a heartfelt performance of their co-written hit “When the Sun Goes Down.”
