Today, the AWESOME is in Nevada, Texas. When the volleyball team at Rockwall High School learned that their school janitor, Abel Rodriguez, didn’t have a car, they decided to do something about it — and the community joined in to help. Abel, known throughout the school for his constant encouragement, high fives, and contagious smile, has become a local legend. He never misses a game and always makes sure every player steps on the court with a “good luck” and a dose of positivity. The students started a GoFundMe page and partnered with a local Ford dealership, and last week, a crowd of more than 100 students, teachers, and parents was on hand to surprise Abel with a brand-new car. The emotion on his face said it all. Proving kindness is always the right thing to do, THAT’S AWESOME.
