Today, the AWESOME is in Buffalo, New York. When Buffalo Academy of Science principal Brianna Lanoye started planning her wedding, she joked more than once about wanting to invite all of her students. Lanoye, who leads the K-12 charter school in Buffalo, New York, told CBS News that she often mentioned inviting the entire school to her big day. Since that wasn’t exactly practical, her students and staff secretly came up with the next best thing: a surprise mock wedding, complete with a makeshift gown, vows, and even candy ring pops. Just days before her real wedding, the staff led Lanoye into the school courtyard, where more than 400 students and teachers were waiting. Brianna couldn’t stop smiling at the sweet surprise, and THAT’S AWESOME.
