It’s a worst-case scenario for Jamaica. Hurricane Melissa, now the strongest storm the planet has seen this year, is already pounding Jamaica with tropical-storm-force winds. Conditions will quickly deteriorate this morning as landfall is expected this afternoon. Hurricane Melissa is a category 5 storm, with 175 mph sustained winds, gusts well over 200 mph, and is expected to dump over 30 inches of rain on top of a dangerous 15-foot storm surge.

 

 

 

 

Saudi Arabia is planning to build a first-of-its-kind soccer stadium. Part of a larger ‘smart city’ development that promises innovation, sustainability, and advanced engineering, the stadium will be built atop a skyscraper over 1100 feet in the air.
