Hurricane Melissa has left Jamaica and devastation in its wake. The storm made landfall as a powerful Category 5, bringing 185 mph winds and leaving widespread power outages, damage, flooding, and death. The storm is now headed to Cuba as an intense Category 3 hurricane. Residents are also being warned about crocodiles swimming in places they once didn’t have access to.
A newly discovered Dr. Seuss manuscript featuring the Cat in the Hat and celebrating the U.S. will be published next year, just in time for America’s 250th anniversary. “Sing the 50 United States” is the first full manuscript written by Dr. Seuss — born Theodor Geisel — to be discovered since the posthumous release of “What Pet Should I Get?” in 2015.
Kansas City Chiefs star receiver Xavier Worthy is proving his worth off the field with the start of his foundation, “The Worthy 1’s.” The foundation is focused on assisting single mothers and their children. And over the weekend, the foundation started its Youth R.I.S.E. program in Kansas City, which provides children with “mentorship opportunities, sports activities, and family engagement.”
