It’s finally over. After 43 days and more than a dozen attempts to reopen the government, President Trump signed the funding package, passed by the Senate and House, into law late Wednesday, meaning the longest government shutdown in the history of our country is over.
Now that the government shutdown is over, the FCC says Disney and Google need to get a deal done because people should have the right to watch what they subscribed to, including football. Reports say Disney is close, probably because some reports have the house of mouse losing $30 million a day since their programming was pulled from YouTube TV.
After more than 230 years, the penny is no more. The very last new penny was minted yesterday in Philadelphia, and no more will be made. There are still 300 million pennies in circulation, with some rare pennies worth approximately $1.7 million. When it was introduced in 1793, a penny could buy a biscuit, a candle, or a piece of candy. Now most of them are cast aside to sit in jars or junk drawers, and each one costs nearly 4 cents to make.
