Kansas Family Asking for Early Christmas Cards for 14-Year-Old AJ
A Wichita family is hoping the community can help bring some early holiday cheer to their 14-year-old son, AJ. He’s a huge fan of Christmas, and with his health rapidly declining, his family is celebrating the holiday early this year — and all AJ wants is to receive cards from around the country.
AJ has faced serious medical challenges since birth and is now battling a rare, aggressive cancer. After recent scans showed significant tumor growth, doctors prepared the family for difficult news and encouraged them to focus on making the most of the time they have.
With Christmas being AJ’s favorite holiday, his family set a simple goal: reach the holiday together and surround him with as much love and joy as possible. They’re asking anyone moved by AJ’s story to send a Christmas card his way — and they hope to receive at least one card from every state.
Because AJ is unable to write, each card received will be answered with a special return card featuring his thumbprint.
