Today, I salute disabled Veteran Caleb Cline. Cline was in a vehicle accident while on active duty training to deploy to Afghanistan. The accident left him with multiple curves and scoliosis and herniating and degenerating discs in his neck and back, meaning he could no longer ride an upright bike, something he had loved to do his entire life. He took his feeling of being forgotten and turned it into a new passion: the non-profit he founded, Rusty Dogs of War, and his team of recumbent bike riders. In 2022, he set 10 world records, including the fastest 300-mile and 500-kilometer trike rides. Earlier this year, his team, Rusty Dogs of War, completed the Race Across America, cycling continuously from California to New Jersey. Now he wants to set a new world record and cross the 500-mile mark in less than 24 hours. Good luck, Caleb, and THANK YOU for your service.
