Today, I salute Navy Veteran La’Kinya Wright. Wright began her Navy career in 2001 as an undesignated airman stationed in Norfolk, where she served as a maintenance technician supporting a fleet of MH-53E aircraft. La’Kinya played a vital role in mission readiness, contributing to airborne mine countermeasure operations, fleet training, and logistics support for the command. To say thank you, Florida Power and Light, along with partner Hope 4 Veterans, gave her home a full holiday makeover. Thousands of LED lights, solar-powered displays, and other energy-efficient decor covered the front yard and home exterior. The “elves” had hung lights, wrapped trees, and added other festive touches. Then came more blessings, including a gift card. Wright said she was overwhelmed and happy for her daughter since this is their first year in their new home. Enjoy the brightness and warmth of the holiday La’Kinya and THANK YOU for your service.
