Today, the AWESOME is in Macon, Georgia. Keith Tidwell and Debbie Rhoden first crossed paths at a Kroger grocery store in Macon, where Tidwell works the night shift in the produce section. For a long time, they barely spoke and didn’t even know each other’s names. Then, one night, Debbie was driving home and saw Keith walking. It turns out Keith’s commute to and from work was 5 miles each way, and with no car, he walked and sometimes biked, day or night. Debbie offered him a ride, and what grew from that was an unexpected friendship. Debbie shared with Keith that she had lost her son a few months prior, and he was always helping people, and his spirit of giving was something she tried to embody. The bond of friendship that gets stronger with each ride, THAT’S AWESOME.
