Today, I salute Marine Veteran Shane Hutcheson. A few months after graduating high school, Shane joined the Marines in 2004. He served seven and a half years, deployed to Afghanistan once, and saw his share of small arms fire and IEDs. When he returned to civilian life, he struggled with PTSD and alcoholism. Then his AA sponsor suggested exercise. At first, he got into fitness at a gym, and while he saw some gains, he was coping with the recovery pain due to old injuries from his service. Then a friend suggested yoga, and at first Shane laughed at the idea. Now he runs his own yoga studio that isn’t your normal yoga studio. Instead of the calm and quiet, it’s 120 degrees and humid in his studio, and the music is loud, and his “Peace in Power” yoga studio is attracting more and more people. Congrats on finding “your thing,” Shane, and THANK YOU for your service.
