When I moved to Kansas in 2014, the first thing friends and family mentioned were tornadoes and I made it my goal to prove to them there was more to Kansas than tornadoes. Well, here ya fam, the state that had the most tornadoes last year was Texas with 162. Followed by Illinois, Missouri, Mississippi and North Dakota. Kansas didn’t even make the top 10.

QuikTrip started the new year by putting some good into Wichita. The City Council has accepted a $280K donation from QuikTrip to help with homelessness outreach. The money will go to the city’s housing department and fund a Homeless Outreach Pilot Program, including two positions for specialists and two positions for interns.

And it’s no longer science fiction, it’s reality. The world’s first gaming headset equipped with non-invasive neurotechnology just debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show. The device is designed to sense and interpret brain activity in real time, offering players insights into focus, attention, and cognitive performance during gameplay. Now, if they can build one for drivers to remind them to use their blinker.
