Today, I Salute Air Force Veteran Brandyn Longhauser. Brandyn takes great pride in being a Veteran. He says he’s very community-driven. That need to help and sense of community was on full display during winter storm Fern over the weekend as it pummeled Springfield Township, Ohio. It all started about 9 pm Sunday night, after Brandyn went inside to warm up after shoveling his driveway. That’s when he saw the flashing lights of an ambulance behind his house; it was stuck in the snow, and there was a patient inside. At first, he joined the ambulance crew, trying to use shovels to dig out, which proved futile. So, it was Brandyn and his 4-cylinder Toyota Tacoma to the rescue. He hooked his truck up to the 20,000-pound ambulance and pulled it to a clear spot where it could get traction and continue on to the hospital. Brandyn said it felt great to help, and it was a good way to celebrate his birthday early. Brandyn turned 31 yesterday. Thanks for being a helper, Brandyn, and THANK YOU for your service.
