Today, the AWESOME is in New Jersey, and it was all captured on a doorbell camera. UPS driver Kyle delivered several boxes of books to Damian Lewis, the author of “Call Me First: A Man’s Blueprint to True Leadership at Home.” Noticing the large delivery, Lewis offered Thurkauf a copy of the book. Kyle accepted. A few days later, even though he didn’t have a stop in the area, Kyle returned to tell Damian he read the book and to tell him how much the book meant to him. That moment of shared kindness has piled up 33 million views, and over 9,000 copies of Damian’s book have been sold. Damian is overwhelmed with gratitude and feels like he doesn’t deserve all the good that has come from this story. What started as a routine delivery turned into a powerful reminder: sometimes, a little kindness can open doors — and change lives — in ways no one expects.
