As Luke Combs gets closer to the release of his new album on March 20th, he is opening up about past music. Specifically, his recording of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car.” In a recent Australian interview, Luke revealed that the cover almost didn’t happen. He originally played on a live stream during COVID, then a couple years later he finished in the studio early, had an extra hour and was like, “Hey, let’s record this for fun.” To date, “Fast Car” is Luke’s biggest song.
The world lost an acting giant yesterday. Robert Duvall’s career spanned 7 decades, and one of his signature roles outside of “The Godfather” was “Tender Mercies.” To prepare for that role, Robert drove all over Texas, playing with country bands to ensure his portrayal was as authentic as possible. The performance won him an Oscar. Duvall was 95.
Lainey Wilson’s “Cowgirl of the Night” has always been one of my favorite things about what she does live on stage, and the other night it was extra special. During a show last week, Lainey brought up 6-year-old Tessa to be the “Cowgirl of the Night.” Tessa is battling a rare neuroblastoma cancer, and her parents are hoping to raise the $750,000 through a GoFundMe page to continue treatment in the U.S.
