Today, the AWESOME is in Phoenix, Arizona. This is another one of those examples that not all heroes wear capes. We can all agree that those Amber Alert tones are startling and a little annoying. However, they are meant to get our attention, and thankfully, they got the attention of a security guard at a QuikTrip. He remembered missing 3-year-old Kehlani Rogers’ description from the amber alert the day before and didn’t hesitate. He saw a moving company at the gas station and enlisted their help. As soon as they identified the suspect’s vehicle, the moving crew used their trucks to box in the pickup, preventing the suspect from leaving while the security guard called 911. Within minutes, Phoenix police arrived on the scene, and the suspect was taken into custody. Police confirmed that Kehlani was safe and unharmed. Everyday people working together to be the heroes a little girl needed.
