Simmons, a former high school athlete, was paralyzed from the chest down after a severe car accident, with doctors giving him a 1% chance of survival. Demonstrating remarkable resilience, he stood up using a walker during the surprise, moving O’Neal to tears. The trip, organized by the nonprofit Dream On 3, includes courtside seats and meet-and-greets with Timberwolves players.
