Today, the AWESOME comes from Richardson, Texas. When parents at Moss Haven Elementary discovered that their cherished crossing guard, “Ms. Crawford”, was commuting via buses and ride shares after her car broke down, they took action. The school’s “Dad Club,” a group of fathers dedicated to enhancing the school community, started a fundraising effort. Within days, they raised several thousand dollars, enabling them to surprise Crawford with a white Jeep. They also covered insurance, managed the title transfer, and arranged initial oil changes.
