The man fatally shot at 13th and Oliver overnight is identified as 22-year-old Clemente Camarillo, of Wichita.
Police report Camarillo and a passenger were in an SUV, driving east on 13th, when a driver in a sedan pulled up to them. At least one person is the sedan is reported to have started shooting, but officials say there may have been more than one shooter. The driver of the sedan left the area. It is described only as being blueish in color.
Camarillo and a 25-year-old male passenger were in the car that was hit, with only Camarillo being shot. He lost control of the SUV and went into the yard of a home on Harding, just east of the intersection. The SUV stopped after hitting a garage and back door to a home.
A 911 call came in to report the shooting around 2 a.m. and first responders pronounced Camarillo dead at the scene. He suffered a single gunshot wound.
Investigators found shell casings in the street at 13th and Oliver and efforts are underway to get security video from the area. Officials report they are looking for a person of interest. Details on a motive have not been released.
