A detention deputy at the Sedgwick County Detention Facility has been arrested for bringing contraband items into the jail.
The Sheriff’s Office issued a statement saying information was received during the past week on contraband trafficking, and that led to the arrest of the deputy. There could be additional charges as the investigation continues.
The deputy began working with the Sheriff’s Office in June, 2019. He has been placed on suspension without pay.
No other details have been released.
