Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors man’s best friend. Sunday marked the anniversary that the K-9 Corp was created back in 1942. It was day that dogs were officially adopted into the U.S. Military ranks at the beginning of WWII. Today, in Virginia, 80 years later, those dogs are getting their day as they celebrate K-9 Veterans Day, a day created to recognize and honor the important role played by dogs in the military.
