Newton Public Schools will be offering free summer meals for kids ages 1 to 18. Meals will be served weekdays, June 6th through July 22nd (with the exception of July 4th and 5th).
The district is urging parent to save the following information:
- South Breeze Elementary School: (sit down hot meals) 1020 Old Main Street. Breakfast: 8:00 a.m. – 8:45 p.m. Lunch: 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.
- Newton High School: (to-go breakfast, to-go lunch sack lunches) 900 W. 12th. Breakfast: 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Lunch: 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
- Northridge Elementary School: (sit down hot meals) 1900 Windsor Drive. Breakfast: 8:00 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Sack Lunch Mobile Route:
- Athletic Park Shelter – 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
- Springlake Splash Park – 11:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
- Country Club Estates Mobile Park – 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, Hutchinson Public Schools announced their Summer Meal Sites for 2022. The USD 308 Summer Meal Program will run from May 31st, 2022 through July 22nd, 2022. There will be no meals served on July 4th, 2022.
The Summer Meal Program will begin on May 31, 2022 at Hutchinson Middle School – 7 and the Fairgrounds Splash Park. An additional meal site will begin at the Hutchinson Public Library beginning on June 6, 2022.
The meal site schedules are as follows:
- Hutchinson Middle School – 7: Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Fairgrounds Splash Park: Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- Hutchinson Public Library: 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Meals are free for all children ages 18 and younger. All sites will offer the option to eat meals on-site or take them to-go. Children must be present to receive meals, or adults can pick up meals by showing a pass. Meal passes will be distributed at each of the meal locations, and children will need to be present to receive a pass.
