The Star Spangled Salute is brought to you by
Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors 89-year-old Veteran Wally Betz. At a young age Wally knew he wanted to enlist. At 17, his Dad wouldn’t sign the papers, so at 19, Wally was officially serving his country in the Army. After his service in Korea, Wally married and made a family and life for himself. After his wife passed, Wally took to painting to help with his loss. Wally’s canvas is rocks given to him by his daughter and Wally paints beautiful landscapes on them, then leaves them for people to find. His hope is that whoever finds the rocks is inspired to add a little bit of beauty to the world, whether it be an act of kindness, planting flowers, or art that they go on to share. You can see more about the rocks when you search the hashtag CDARocks on social media. Thank you Wally for your inspiring gift and THANK YOU for your service.
