Members of the Wichita Firefighter’s Union rallied outside City Hall Tuesday, calling for better wages.
The city and union are working on a new contract for firefighters. After finishing training, Wichita’s firefighters are paid $15.75 an hour, which is about $5 less than in similar sized cities. The union is calling for raising starting wages closer to $20 per-hour.
