The Ellsworth County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man whose remains were found in a field on Tuesday.
The body was identified Friday as Nathan Philip Thompson, who was reported missing in June. The KBI was called in to assist with the investigation.
An autopsy was performed Thursday, and Thompson’s death has been ruled a homicide.
Police believe a Chevrolet Express van was possibly used to facilitate Thompson’s disappearance. That vehicle has since been recovered, though authorities need help identifying the driver.
If you have had contact with Nathan Thompson since June 1, 2022, or have information regarding his disappearance, you are asked to call Salina PD at (785) 826-7210. They are also seeking information connected to a fire at 1635 Elgin. Information about how those two incidents are linked has not been released.
