The Star Spangled Salute is brought to you by

Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors U.S. Army Veteran Richie Neider. Richie will be the first to tell you what mobility means when you don’t have it and what it means to get it back.  He is the first Arizona veteran who is taking home a robotic exoskeleton that will help him walk independently again. While serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005, Richie received a spinal cord injury that left him unable to walk. For nearly a decade, he has been in a wheelchair, but will now have the opportunity to stand and walk on his own with the help of his new ReWalk Personal 6.0 Exoskeleton, fully funded by Veterans Affairs through a national program. Richie says, “It feels like walking, even though I know my legs aren’t actually doing it, I’m doing it, so it just an amazing feeling.” Congratulations on our new freedom of mobility Richie and THANK YOU for your service.
