Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Veteran Francis Caltagarone.  In 1990 Francis had a dream of a park in his hometown honoring and remembering those who served. Jump ahead 32 years and the dream is finally a reality and the Kenneth L. Lyons Veterans Memorial Park is the highlight of mainstreet in his hometown. Francis is a longtime Reynoldsville resident, a veteran, and one of the masterminds behind the memorial park. He had 5 brothers in the service in World War II, 3 of them were in heavy combat. Funding kept stalling the project over the years until volunteers stepped in to help build the park, saving thousands of dollars. The park will not only be used to honor those who serve but it also creates a space for community members too. Congratulations on seeing the dream come true Francis, and THANK YOU for your service.
