A minimum-custody resident has been apprehended and is back in custody at the Wichita Work Release Facility.

28-year-old Zachary H. Leis turned himself in just before the noon on Tuesday, December 27th.

Leis was reported missing when he did not return to the facility after work on Monday. Officials from the Kansas Department of Corrections, Enforcement, Apprehensions & Investigations (EAI), and the Kansas Highway Patrol had been searching Monday night through Tuesday morning.

Leis is serving time after being convicted of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, criminal damage to property and two counts of domestic battery.
