Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Iraq war Veteran Richard Machamer, who used the skills he learned in the field to help a woman who had her precious Yorkie stolen out of her front yard.  Raquel Witherspoon had her dog, Avery, taken and then shortly after she posted on social media the dog nappers send threatening messages and demanded money.  Admitting there were a lot of rabbit holes to go down, Richard put the dognappers’ phone number into his personal phone, which is connected to his Instagram account. A few hours later — Instagram recommended that he follow an account associated with that phone number. The Marine vet used that account to find a person who looked similar in the doorbell video. Police eventually arrested a 16-year-old in the theft and brought Avery home safely. Thank you Richard for helping get Avery home and THANK YOU for your service.
