Garth and Trisha are always so much fun to watch when they hang out in Studio G. Answering fan emails and tweets and messages, goofin’ around and every once and a while they let a juicy tid bit slip (accidentally on purpose of course). Most recently, last night, on Valentine’s Day Eve, the two let the “cat out of the bag” about a duet album that is coming later this year.
On Monday evening, Trisha Yearwood was on hand “Inside Studio G” with Garth Brooks as he spent time on Facebook catching up with us…and that included fielding a viewer question asking if the pair might consider releasing or working on a long-awaited album of duets as part of what’s shaping up to be a busy year for both of them. “Want to?” Trisha asked. “Well….” he answered with a lengthy pause that sent her into peals of laughter.
“I, of course, want to…but…” he offered, prompting Trisha to ask, “But?” That’s when they subtly shared news many have waited years to hear. “There’s already a duet record coming out this year!” he revealed, as she verified, “That’s true!”
Garth and Trisha have lent vocals to countless songs of each other’s since the earliest days of their recording careers…and the pair have shown how perfectly matched they are not only in real life but musically on such favorites as “In Another’s Eyes” and recent offerings like “Shallow,” “Whiskey to Wine” and “What Gave Me Away.”
