UPDATE: The rider involved in a fatal hit and run in downtown Wichita reportedly turned himself in.
Jail records show the 21-year-old was booked for unintentional but reckless second-degree murder, failing to stop after a crash, and for not having a valid drivers license.
A pedestrian died after being hit by a motorcycle rider Monday evening, and the rider left the scene.
Wichita police were called to 11th and Broadway around 7:15 Monday evening, and found an injured woman in the roadway. She was taken to a hospital and later died from her injures. The woman’s name has not been released, but she is identified as being 48-years-old.
Investigators found the woman had been hit by a rider on a black dirt bike. The rider left the scene headed north on Broadway and was not contacted. Anyone who can help identify the rider pictured above is asked to call Detective Nelson at 316-350-3686, Crime Stoppers at
