KU, K-State get ready for the NCAA tournament

Kansas and Kansas State are getting ready for the first round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.  The tournament brackets were announced Sunday afternoon.

Kansas is the number one seed in the West Region in its bid for a repeat championship.  The Jayhawks will play 16th seed Howard on March 16th in Des Moines, Iowa.   KU head coach Bill Self was discharged Sunday from the University of Kansas Health System, where he underwent a medical procedure.  He is expected to rejoin the team for March Madness.

Kansas State is the third seed in the East Region, and the Wildcats will play 13th seed Montana State on March 17th.

Alabama is the number one seed in the South Region, Purdue is number one in the East Region and Houston is the number one seed in the Midwest.
