For what is believed to be the first time ever…..a Great White Shark was caught in the waters off the coast of Alabama.
@al.comnews A great white shark, believed to be the first ever caught off the shores of Alabama, was reeled in by a group on a land-based shark fishing trip in Orange Beach, Alabama just a few weeks ago. Dylan Wier, his business partner Blaine Kenny and a group of family friends from Wisconsin caught the shark in the early morning hours of March 7th. It took the group 32 minutes to reel the fish in, which was confirmed to be a great white by a Mississippi-based professor and go-to shark expert for the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. At around 11 feet in length, the juvenile shark is believed to be the first-ever great white caught by a land-based fisherman in Alabama. Although the shark was detected offshore in Gulf waters, they are rarely seen close enough for land-based fishermen to reach. Wier and Kenny’s land-based shark fishing business, Costal WorldWide, uploaded the full video to their Youtube channel. You can check out the entire encounter here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eU0Bv6ntblY&t=3s Footage courtesy of Coastal WorldWide. #naturetiktok #shark #beach #gulfcoastfishing #greatwhiteshark
