Skeletal remains of a person were found in Allen County over the weekend.
A man looking for antler sheds found the body Saturday afternoon, near Humboldt, Kansas. This was in a rural area near Arizona and 1800th Road, southeast of Humboldt.
Investigators with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office and the KBI are working to identify the body. A statement from the KBI says identification may take longer than usual because of the condition the body was in. An autopsy is scheduled to try and determine cause of death.
Anyone could help identify the person found can call the KBI at 1-800-KS-CRIME, or the Allen County Sheriff’s Office at (620) 365-1400. Tips can also be submitted anonymously online at https://www.kbi.ks.gov/sar.
